A few weeks ago, we decided to try Flour in Moreland Hills.  We dined on a busy Saturday night with some friends.

Wood fired margherita pizza, crushed tomato, mozzarella and basil

They said…This was a great appetizer for the four of us.  The crust was thin and crispy, the ingredients were fresh, and we would order it again.

Cavatelli with pork ragu, lucky penny goat cheese and english peas

She said…I really enjoyed this pasta.  I even thought there was enough goat cheese in it!  The pasta was perfectly cooked, the ragu very flavorful and the fresh peas were fantastic.

Braised Beef Short Ribs with white bean ragu, confit fennel, honey and truffle gremolata

He said…Although this is a terrible picture, this was actually the best short rib dish that I have had in awhile.   I don’t think I left anything on the plate!  The short rib was cooked to perfection and the meat was very tender and delicious.  The white bean ragu was a wonderful compliment to the beef.

We decided to skip dessert at Flour.  You didn’t think we would miss an opportunity to stop in at Jeni’s with it being so close and all, did you?

Overall, we liked Flour and would return.  The service was good and we enjoyed both the atmosphere and the food.
