The Greenhouse Tavern, Would You Order It Again?

We are big fans of Jonathon Sawyer and The Greenhouse Tavern.  Chef Sawyer’s philosophy & talent inspire us to eat things that we might not otherwise try.  For example, at Dinner in the Dark a few months ago we tasted his pork tongue ragu, something we probably wouldn’t have ordered off a menu.  It was utterly fantastic, and the highlight of the dinner for us.  For those of you who don’t know, Dinner in the Dark is a monthly event where area chefs get together at a different restaurant each month to create a 6 course meal with wine pairings.  Diners are “in the dark” as to which chefs are cooking and what’s on the menu, and the proceeds benefit a different charity each month.  Recently, we sat down on the patio at Greenhouse on a beautiful evening and tasted quite a few of the smaller plates on the menu.  Unfortunately, we didn’t take pictures, but wanted to share our thoughts on what we had.  We often sum up a dish by answering the single question, “Would you order it again?”  So here is a simple sum up of the dishes that we tried.
