We attended the Hudson Wine Festival this past Saturday evening. This was our first time attending this event that raises money for several area animal charities. Tickets were $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Your ticket got you a souvenir wine glass and 10 tasting tickets.
She said…I found the wine selection very disappointing. It consisted of mostly local wines and your garden-variety wines that you can buy at the grocery store. I did find one wine from Traderman Distributors that I enjoyed and might actually purchase, NV Fog Hill Proprietary Red Blend (Napa).
He said…I have to agree that the selection was a disappointment. It would have been nice if some of the distributors would have featured those hidden “gems” that you may not otherwise be aware of when looking for decent bottle of wine at a reasonable price point. With that said, this Cabernet from Joel Gott was my favorite of the night, which is distributed by Vanguard Wines. Otherwise, it looked like a good turnout for a worthy cause.
Nosh Eatery and Creative Catering provided the food for the event. Rick Carson, Chef/Owner of Nosh will be one of the featured chefs at the Six Courses For A Cure gourmet wine dinner taking place at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls on August 19th. Nosh will be opening in Hudson on August 8th, and based on what we tried we can’t wait to check it out.
